Biography
Early Life
Bejal Azar was born Bejal Markville in Leran Manev, the largest city on Trill, on stardate 19820829.013 (the 29th August 2363). He was the son of Meera and Gran Markville. He was named after a dear friend of the family who died in an accident on the Utopia Planitia Shipyards. Markville parents worked in the Trill System shipyards, manufacturing parts for many ships of the Starfleet line. Markville had two sisters: Lela and Tala; both of whom were older than him.
Childhood
At the age of three, Markville began going to pre-school as his parents were working full time at the shipyards and his sisters both applied to go into the Starfleet Marine Cadet Force. Markville did not understand the concept of pre-school and refused to make any form of progress towards the development of his reading capability until he was four years old.
At the age of five he moved into kindergarten at the Trill branch of the Zephram Cochrane Elementary Education Trust. After the little progress he made in pre-school, Markville caught up surprisingly well, and his skills in Federation Standard were at what was expected of children of his age at that time. While in kindergarten he met Fomet Meteg, his lifelong friend and blood brother. He went through 1st Grade and left with a math score that exceeded the expectations of his teachers and parents. During his 2nd Grade, Markville was injured when he got into a fight with an Andorian child. His right leg was gashed open and snapped. The school infirmary was able to repair his leg however, after the incident it was realised that Markville’s leg would need several procedures for it to fully heal as it seemed to have resisted laser treatment that was supposed to straighten it. After listening to the advice of the school nurses, Markville’s parent’s thought it best that he go through with the operation. This impeded Markville’s education by six months. The operations were successful and Markville was out of rehabilitation a week before expected. He then returned to school four weeks into the 3rd grade. Therahk, the Andorian child that had injured Markville had left the school and moved to a different city. Meteg had passed the 2nd grade with flying colours and was almost at the point at which he could skip to the next. He then went through the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades under Meteg’s guidance and assistance. After six years of hard work, Markville graduated elementary school at a grade that exceeded the expectations of his teachers in science, history, martial arts (as extra curriculum) and mathematics however his skills lacked in art and religious studies.
Teen Years
Markville then went to the Trill Central Middle School, a small extension of the Trill Central High School, to which the school was connected. He entered the 6th grade brimming with confidence; however this was changed when he met Jarek Phett. The large and odorous Trill was a 7th grader who when ever he had the chance, felt it right to constantly verbally abuse Trill that, unlike he, didn’t carry the Trill Augment Virus, which replaced a subjects spots with a forehead ridge. Phett was large and intimidating; thus everyone, including Markville didn’t wish to get on the wrong side of him. The teachers at the school noted a drop in Markville’s grades and confidence yet did not know what to do about it. They asked him if anything was wrong and he always responded in the same monotonous tone “There is nothing wrong.”. The once shockingly intellectual student thus entered the 7th grade with an average grade. Phett transferred to another school before starting the 8th grade, thus taking a weight off Markville’s shoulders. During the 7th grade, Markville’s oldest sister, Lela, had a son named Pata. Markville’s nephew was born showing the effects of the Trill Augment Virus, to the shock of his family, who had no knowledge of a relative with the virus. At the end of the 7th grade, Markville’s grades had returned to the standards that were expected of him. He then passed through the 8th grade, receiving outstanding grades in the subject areas that he had excelled in at elementary. He also received a black belt in Trill martial arts. Markville entered the Trill Central High School and spent the next four years of his education there. His grades in martial arts and military tactics exceeded the expectations of even Fomet Meteg, who was often hailed as a prodigy in most subjects. The school recommended him to the Symbiosis Commission who said that he was welcome to take training at any point.
Starfleet Academy
Markville successfully applied for Starfleet Academy in the hope of becoming an operations officer, although he also had an interest in security. Markville traversed the four years of military training and received a major in Operations and a minor in Security. He received distinction in phaser training, being able to often hit most targets when firing at moving objects; this is something his instructors call “a steady hand”. Markville then volunteered for the mission on the USS Voyager as an operations officer.
Time on USS Voyager
In July 2390, Markville was assigned as an operations officer-cadet on USS Voyager. In August, Markville was trasfered to the alpha shift on Voyager and promoted to Ensign. During the search and rescue rover project, Markville was leader of the recovery team. He suggested that the away team be armed with phasers. In October 2390, Markville joined the mission on the ChR Jaeih to Bershefony. Soon after his return from Beshefony, Markville was injured and knocked unconcious by hughpe' lagh, a fellow officer on board Voyager, during a session of combat training. The lagh, being a medical officer himself, treated him. Two days later, Markville and hughpe' engaged in another spar fight. Neither of the combatantts won as the fight ended with the lagh pulling a knife in the Ensign because Markville made an insulting remark. Security was called to separate the two officers. Following an investigation by khre'Arrain Nalah t'Khnialmnae, the Ensign was place in the brig as the insult he used against the lagh during the fight was in a way racist to the Rihannsu. He was releived of duty until he had completed eighty hours of Federation Racial Awareness Traning. The ensign was released three days later and formally apologised to the lagh and all Rihannsu on the ship. In November 2390, he was returned to duty. He was placed in command of an investigation into a loss of prime matter aboard the ship. He was also appointed the postion of Religious Services Coordinator. On the last day of November, a signal was broadcast across all channel on the ship for assisstance on Deck 14. Markville entered a turbolift with the intention of going to Deck 14 when he found khre'Arrain t'Khnialmnae with an unconcious Theirnn tr'Llhaenn, the ships Tal Shiar Representative. The khre'Arrain ordered Markville to drag the body to sickbay. While she issued this order, the theirnn regained conciousness. Markville alerted the khre'Arrain and she shot him with her disruptor for not doing as she ordered. He woke up outside the sickbay onboard and confronted the khre'Arrain, only to be told to leave. He was then treated for brain damage the following day. This shocked Doctor Ngaire Guimaraes and the physician that treated him. In December, Hughpe' lagh was assigned to assisst Markville in his preparations for the upcoming festivities. He organised a "Secret Santa" celebration in the style of 21st century Earth Westerners. In January 2391, Markville was relieved of duty a Religious Services Coordinator and re-instated as a standard operations officer, however, he was assigned to assist Monika Grant in the planning of crew events. When Voyager was attacked by an automated weapon ship, it was Markville's quarters that breached first. In February, Markville suggested an upgrade for the ship's LCARS interface, called "HCARS", to Lieutenant J.G. Lakahn Adelm. After suggesting this to khre'Riov t'Khnialmnae, who said that Markville would have to submit the idea to Starfleet R&D apon return to the Alpha Quadrant, Lakahn ordered Markville to end his reasearch outside of holodecks. In March, Markville suggested the HCARS idea to Crewman Matthew Archer to have it included into the design of the Unity, an experimental runabout that Archer was designing. Later in the month, Voyager crash landed on a planet named Thalassia. Two days after the crash, Markville and Ensign Gregory Crawmer stood up to erei'Riov t'Aegis, saying that they could risk violating the Prime Directive by being on the planet. The erei'Riov confined them both to the brig. Soon after, he was reassigned to the beta shift for the remainder of Voyager's trip. Voyager returned home through a temporal wormhole, leaving from August 2393 and arriving in the April of 2400.
Joining
Upon return, Bejal applied for uniashid; joining with a symbiont. His application was approved and he was joined with Azar whose former hosts had been the Trill's foreign secretary, prime minister and one of their senior ambassadors. After the Joining, Bejal Azar resigned from Starfleet and applied to the Federation Diplomatic Corps, who accepted and appointed him as Attaché to the Federation Ambassador to Hellesport. On his suggestion, he was later appointed as Consul to Hellesport by the end of the year.

| Meera Markville was born on the 15th April, 2335 (Current Age: 63). She works at the Trill System Shipyards with her husband, Gran Markville, who was born on 4th May 2332 (Current Age: 66). Meera and Gran met on the shipyyards She gave birth to her first daughter, Lela Markville in 2360 at her parent's home. Gran was not present, having to work extra shifts at the shipyards to support the family in Trill's moneyless economy. With the young Lela in the care of her grandparents, Meera went back to work as soon as she could. By the time Prime Minister Talor Azar had been appointed in 2363 and had introduced a new housing scheme, Meera, Gran and Lela moved into a new house in the capital of Leran Manev, just in time for Meera to give birth to her second daughter, Tala. Five years later, Meera gave birth to Bejal Markville. By mid 2386, Gran and Meera were living alone, as Lela was serving as an officer in the Starfleet Marine Corps, Tala was working as a guardian for the Symbiosis Commission and Bejal had just left to train at Starfleet Academy on Earth. Four years later, he would be assigned as an Ensign to the USS Voyager (NCC-74656) on it's mission to the Delta Quadrant and be solemnly presumed dead by his family when contact was lost for seven years. When Meera and Gran learned of Bejal's return and then his successful application for symbiosis, they were thrilled. They met the newly joined Bejal Azar in Leran Manev (where he confused himself with his past hosts briefly). | ||
| Siblings | ||
| Lieutenant Colonel Lela Romala was born Lela Markville on the 17th July 2362 (Current Age: 38) in the house of her maternal grandparents to her mother Meera and her absent father, Gran. She is an officer in the Starfleet Marine Corps. She was born into a realm of poverty; the Trillic Joinarant's moneyless economy was faltering in the decadence of Atsed Tsang, the then-current and deeply unpopular Joinar, and it was workers like her mother and father who suffered as a consequence. This was rectified when Enshal Talor Azar introduced a housing scheme to have families living in their own homes. Lela's sister, Commissioner Tala Markville was born when Lela was two on the 14th February 2364 (Current Age: 35) and her brother, Bejal, when she was six; both were born in the family's Leran Manev house. As a teenager, Lela and Tala signed up for the Starfleet Marine Cadet Training Corps, the youth cadet arm of the Starfleet Marine Corps, a career Lela took up when she left Trill Central High School. In her third year of the academy, after becoming pregnant with the child of Starfleet cadet Temal Romala, Tala gave birth to a son who, due to genetic mutation, was classified as Trill Augment, a subspecies of the Trill that had forehead ridges as opposed to spots. Lela graduated as a Second Lieutenant and sixteen years later, she is serving as as Lieutenant Colonel in command of an entire battalion of marines. Upon graduation from the Central High School, Tala became a guardian at the Symbiosis Commission, tending to the symbionts, one of whom, Azar, who she looked after for a brief period in 2400, would later go on to be joined with her brother. | ||
| Other Relatives | ||
| Lieutenant Commander Temal Romala (born 9th March 2360, current age: 40) is the husband of Lela Romala and the father of their Augment son Pata. Temal was born in Turel Manev, the twin city of Trill's capital, Leran Manev. He grew up to go to Starfleet Academy in the Federation's second city, San Francisco. There he met Lela Markville who he began a romantic relationship with which brought about the birth of their son in his fourth year. Following his promotion to Ensign, he was assigned to the USS Ticonderoga, a ship that he has stayed on the roster of since, currently serving as it's second officer. He was manning the bridge when the Ticonderoga had to transfer some prisoners from Hellesport Station. | ||
| Pata Romala is a Trill Augment born on Earth to Lela and Temal Romala on 23rd June 2383 (Current Age: 17). He was born with the Augment virus which made him into an Augment. The virus is not hereditary between normal Trill, but all of Pata's descendants are all most certain to be Augments. | ||
| Blood Brother | ||
| Lieutenant Formet Meteg was born in Serna Manev on the 16th July 2368. Currently, he is a Starfleet science officer service aboard the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701-E). He has known Bejal Azar since preschool and they have been close friends since. He was considered a genius from a young age, often completing work that was designated for those higher in the school system. He has ascended quickly to the rank of Lieutenant and refused a promotion to Lieutenant Commander for "religious reasons". He was at Starfleet Academy with Bejal. Upon graduation, the two took separate assignments and were separated when contact with Voyager was lost. Bejal and Formet met again in Leran Manev when Bejal was joined. | ||
| Coworkers & Suboardinates | ||
| Essair Kell Turim is the Secretary for the Consulate on Hellesport. In this position, she manages the affairs of the Consulate and it's workers, acting primarily as Azar's secretary. She served in the science science department aboard Voyager before resigning from Starfleet to join the Ozrensa, Trill's Foreign Office. When necessary, she has been authorised to serve as a Trill Liaison Officer if one is not able to be appointed to Hellesport. | ||
| Lieutenant T'Repala is a member of the Vulcan martial law government, the Vulcan High Command. She is a member of the Ministry of State, the ministry that manages Vulcan's external affairs. As a calculating Vulcan, her office is always impeccably straight and she likes piling Azar with reports, even though he doesn't ask for them. Being the Liaison Officer for Vulcan, T'Repala controls the station movements of the V'Shar and the V'Kor, the Vulcan Security Ministry's intelligence agency and police force respectively. | ||
