Starbase Deep Space 9 (formerly Terok Nor) is a Cardassian-built commercial and defensive outpost in the Bajoran System, near the Alpha Quadrant terminus of the Bajoran Wormhole. It was administered by Starfleet at the invitation of the Bajoran Republic, the owners of the station.
On Stardate 20120118.1323, DS9 was attacked and conquered by the Klingon Empire.
On Stardate 20130509.0823, the Federation has retaken DS9.
