The Gorn Hegemony is a large interstellar kingdom situated in between the Klingon Empire and the Tholian Assembly, populated exclusively by the reptilian Gorn. It has been known to have border disputes with the United Federation of Planets over colonies such as Cestus III, which was once completely destroyed by a Gorn attack during the 23rd century. Gorn society is divided into castes, with the warrior castes being the strongest, built for war; the technician castes being gifted with skills for engineering, science and tactics; the worker castes having very little intelligence, being only needed to work the mines; and the ruling caste being fairly weak but extremely intelligent and sly, they play such a crucial role that they are necessary for the Hegemony to stand.
