Hellesport is an independent trade station, located in the Klingon-Romulan Neutral Zone in a position local to all three of the major Beta Quadrant empires. This strategic location makes it a prime center for trade, both legal and illicit, for the three regional powers as well as many independent or non-affiliated entities. Originally constructed and operated by the PanHelles Interstellar Holdings Corporation, Hellesport has been the center of political and commercial upheaval for many years.
The station was destroyed at one point and the current version dragged through a wormhole from an alternate universe. It was originally ruled by a temporary alliance between UFP, RSE and KE, then purchased by a small consortium of private Ferengi investors. In the late 2380s, the station was re-purchased by PanHelles Interstellar Holdings Corporation. After the outbreak of the war against the OOR, the three main powers of the Alpha and Beta quadrants have agreed to another alliance and now are renting the station from PanHelles. The station is governed by a Triumvirate with a representative each of UFP, RSE and KE.
