| Hughpe', son of Qo'raH was born on Qo'noS's outlying lands where his father was permitted to establish a lesser house of his own. During the course of his childhood his parents were called many times to battle for duty to the Hubbeq, leaving their children to grow up mostly with their aging grandparents who were most eager to teach them the ancient Klingon Values of Glory and Honor. Hughpe' and his siblings were always listening to what their grandparents had to say about their long history of service.

| At a fairly young age, Hughpe' was keen on learning the ways of battle as much of what his elders sung of lifted his spirits and hopes to be one day as good as they were and had expressed many times that he was ready to become a warrior. But his elders laughed and patted him on the head.

| When his parents would return from their tour of duty on leave they would also have plenty of exaggerated stories to tell to Hughpe' and the others. It was realized then that their parents had to do something to support their family better. When they heard of House q'taQ advancing on several other houses they knew they had to swear allegiance to them so Qo'raH and his wife joined q'taQ's army and worked hard to bolster their Honor to the house.

| Qo'raH fought for the house to ensure his children's success in life and soon had been granted second in command of a ship of the house under a renowned leader. By this time Hughpe' had undergone the rite of ascension, and being the eldest of his siblings been granted a place in the Imperial War Academy where he was given the opportunity to study in the ways of becoming a Medical Officer for the Hubbeq in four years time. During this time, Hughpe' had also sworn allegiance to the house q'taQ. The others, his brothers and sisters, enlisted for a quicker way to enter battle.

| During Hughpe's time within the Imperial War Academy, the Empire had allocated most of its efforts to the Cardassian Invasion Force, to which his father had been placed on as well. It was considered an honor to be part of the fleet and with such they made the advance into Cardassian Space.

| Almost halfway into his time at the Academy he received a disturbing missive. His father was killed in the line of duty. The means were catastrophic to him; a Cardassian agent had assassinated his father in his sleep. He felt a strong loss of honor, having no way to bail and kill the bastard who had stripped his father of glory and an honorable way to die. This was not how a Klingon was to pass away! And all Hughpe' could do was continue the rest of his schooling, bound by duty and obligation to his father.

| Later that week he was confronted by his younger brother who had been complaining about why Hughpe' did not stop what he was doing so that he would see to it that his father were to walk the halls of Sto'Vo'Kor, to be able to fight the endless fight in the afterlife rather than whisking away without honor!

| After exchanging a few words of disgust and petaQ the brother left, never to be heard from directly again. Clearly he was disgusted by the fact that Hughpe' had done nothing but stay. Hughpes excuse was simple. He had an obligation to his father to see through the Academy and has sworn that he will not rest until after honoring Qo'raH. He is determined to see him to Kahless' side.

| Aside from his next two years of training on live subjects and the studies of alien life in the form of tactics, war efforts, and even medical given his field of expertise growing, life at the Academy had been uneventful, though life threatening. Messing up even slightly would mean the end of his career.

| Not the greatest in Medicine, he still managed to graduate his class above average only to find himself shipped out to the Cardassian Invasion Fleet on his first cadet cruise. He thought this was the perfect chance to prove himself and to restore a rightful place for his father in Sto'Vo'Kor.

| Hughpe' was wrong. He was stuck in the heat of battle on the outlying colonies, tending to the wounds of the soldiers that kept being thrown at him. Overtime he became professionally proficient at fixing the Klingon soldiers that still had fight left in them. Hughpe' had earned the rank of lagh by the end of the skirmish near the Cardassian border.

| Hughpe' was devastated that he had not been able to honor his father in a glorious battle, instead he had gloriously given several soldiers another chance to fight back, increasing his honor just slightly. The ship he was assigned on had been recalled to Qo'noS for repairs and his chances for honoring his father slipping farther away.

| Back home, Hughpe' came across a notice that the USS Voyager would be venturing into the Delta Quadrant in an inter-species effort. With the dim hopes of being able to find Honor and a way to restore his father's, he put in a request to join the Klingon crew of the USS Voyager.
